Welcome
to the Rotary Club of Bend's Website!
The Rotary Club of Bend
is the original Rotary Club in Central Oregon. It was
chartered in 1947 and currently has 105 members who are "Making Dreams
Real" with their extraordinary
commitment
to
our local community as well as to Rotary's World Community Service.
Our projects in recent
years have spanned the globe. After sending 120 wheelchairs to
Lithuania in 2003 we, along with the three other Rotary Clubs in Bend,
built Rotary Centennial Park in Bend in 2004. We are now in the
second phase of a 2-year project providing fresh drinking water to 25
elementary schools in Sri Lanka that were devastated by the Tsunami.
We participate in the
program to provide all third graders in our district with dictionaries,
offer 4 music and academic scholarships each year, and support many Family and
Children's agencies in our area with our "Make Dreams Real"
projects and with financial aid. We offer free "shots for tots", and bring holiday
gifts to many needy area kids with our "Tree of Joy"
project.
The Rotary Club of Bend is
truly made up of exceptional people who are trying to add a little more to
the community woodpile than they take out. Along with the other
33,000 Rotary Clubs in 160 countries, we are changing the world
with our work at home and around the globe, one act at a time.
To learn more about our
activities and the Rotary Club of Bend, please contact us via this website or visit us on
Wednesdays at Noon at the Bend Golf and Country Club.
