One of the Main Objects of Rotary is to
Provide Service to Our Local Community

Our club delivers service to our community in two ways.  First through the hands-on work we do.  Each month one of our club's "teams" goes out into the community and lends a group or organization a "helping hand".  These projects range from sprucing up the grounds at the Kids Center to Christmas parties for the families in the COBRA shelter to pulling weeds at a local park.

The other way we perform community service is by donating much-needed funds to non-governmental organizations within the community that need and ask for our assistance.

If your group is doing good and important work here in Bend, we invite you to seek a grant from us.  Our traditional cycle is that we consider grant requests at the beginning of October and the beginning of April.  If you have a need, however, please do not hesitate to submit a grant request at any time.

How To Submit A Grant:

2.  Fill out application legibly and completely
3.  Mail application to P.O. Box 305  Bend, OR 97709

Criteria for Rotary Club of Bend Charitable Giving

1.  The organization making the request should have a quality, worthy purpose that benefits a group of people in the community needing help

2.  The management of the organization should be of a quality that we believe our funds will be used to their highest and best purpose

3.  The organization's integrity should be such that the Rotary Club of Bend would want to align itself with the organization.

4. As a general rule we like to support programs and groups when they are starting out.  We tend to not give funds for continuing operating.  The most notable exception would be a group that we gave substatial funding to get started.

5.  We like to support programs for young people that enhance, stimulate, motivate, and make better their growth opportunities within the community.
