The Rotary Club of Bend is an active part of Rotary International, an organization with more than 1.2 million members in thirty-three thousand clubs around the world. Since 1905, Rotary has brought together business and professional leaders that want to provide humanitarian service and advance goodwill and peace.

The Rotary Club of Bend engages its members with fun socials, provocative programs and opportunities to change lives. Through volunteerism and charitable giving, our members serve locally, throughout the United States and in communities around the world.

Internationally, the strength of over 1.2 million Rotary members is leveraged to respond to national and international catastrophes to provide basic life needs to those suffering from events like the Sumatra–Andaman earthquake in 2004, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico in 2017. International services led by members of the Rotary Club of Bend have included providing Shelter Box units and clean water systems to disaster victims, a water project in Condega, Nicaragua, remodeling of a school kitchen and providing wheelchairs in Lithuania. Our current international service program in Ethiopia supports, with both financial and direct, in-country member participation, the establishment of a long-term program providing education, medical and other resources to assist local healthcare providers in mitigating neural tube defects (hydrocephalous and spina bifida).

Rotary Club of Bend members are currently supporting the construction of new facilities at Bend’s Bethlehem Inn and serving meals to its residents. Club members also support and participate in A Gift of Literacy, providing every first-grader in Bend public schools an enriching six-month literacy program. Members have also directly participated in presenting the Choices program to at-risk high school students and provided both financial and hands-on support to construct a greenhouse at the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch, a 19-acre working farm in a rustic setting that promotes the healing of combat trauma.

From polio eradication to clean water and shelter, international youth student exchange, youth leadership camp and college scholarships, the Rotary Club of Bend and Rotary International provide opportunities for business and professional leaders that want to provide humanitarian service and advance goodwill, peace around the world and to enjoy the friendship of those who want to serve.

Rotary is the most financially sound, largest and most powerful networking service organization whose flag is recognized in more countries that any other flag in the world. Every minute of every day Rotary feeds someone, houses someone, vaccinates someone, comforts someone and heals someone.
